What's been the best part of the year for you?
We were treated to a superb panto performance from the Year 5&6s this morning!
Well done to all involved and good luck with your remaining performances!
Earlier in the year (and a lot of times since!) we asked lots of philosophical questions to Sparky who was making a book with his favourite in!
Our class contributed a load and a few have now been published!
Well done Maple Tree class and to your inquisitive minds!
This afternoon our 2 World Cup captains had the rest of the class to help them recreate the World Cup Final.
Our game finished 2-2 and then was won by Argentina in penalties.
Lots of the team showed good sportsmanship and encouragement to each other.
We had another afternoon looking at Brazil in a bit more depth.
We worked ourselves around 4 different stations.
1 group created music based on the calmness of the Amazon rainforest (to appear on podcast later!), the busyness of Rio and the excitement of football!
1 group had to find their name on a created map of Brazil and then locate where their name fell in the county (near certain states or cities)
1 group looked at the different layers of the amazon rainforest.
1 group looked at Brazilian street art and tried to recreate some of their own using vibrant colours.
The children worked really hard on this work today.
We used "mod rock" today to make our own World Cup.
It was a challenge but we now have something we are really proud of!
The next stage is to add the gold paint!
Well done to our winners this term.
Different children won awards for creativity, environment, positive attitude and community.
We looked at some facts from the game and listened to some radio highlights to help us write our match report from last night's historic World Cup match.
We will be typing some of these up to create our own newspaper story.
