This week in Maths we have been completing sums using the bar model and column addition. The children have been practising regrouping ones, tens and hundreds using place value counters. Try making some counters of your own at home to help you to solve these addition calculations.

We have also been practising reading and writing words with the 'ei' sound which can be spelt 'ei' in vein, 'eigh' in eight, 'ey' in they and 'aigh' in straight. Dictate some simple sentences for your child to write including the words rain, snake, brake, eight, sleigh, spade, tail, tray, shake, play, paint, grey etc.

We are going to Avebury Henge tomorrow, our trip will take place within the normal school day hours. Your child will need a packed lunch and a bottle of water. They need to wear uniform shirt and jumper/cardigan, non uniform trousers and have a coat with them. Please ensure that they have sensible shoes for walking in. (We will take our Woodland Workshop welly boxes if necessary.)
